(2012 FANHS Conference)

 
 

The Family Services Committee was created by FANHS Rio Grande to encourage participants (from NM & out of state) to the 2012 FANHS Conference (June 28-30, 2012) to bring their family members/relatives by providing activities for 2 days (Thurs & Fri) for them while participants are at the conference.

Due to lack of attendance, we are not having activities for spouses.  Thanks.

FEE FOR CHILD:  $25   (Checks are payable to FANHS RG.) Includes workshops, one field trip, & light lunches/snacks. (Thurs, Fri).

10:00-11:30  am      Philippine Folk Dancing 
Learn Tinikling & Itik Itik dances taught by our youth: Bianca White & Andrea Pena of the Philippine Dance Group. 
11:45 am    Leave for Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC) 
We’ll take our lunch boxes and eat there.  We’ll have the tour at around 1:00 pm.  The tour will be conducted by IPCC Tour Coordinator, Kate Ortega followed by a Cultural Show at 2:00.
3:30 pm                  Back to Marriott
3:30-4:15 pm        A Magic Show - by our youths trained by
magician, Jeri White; followed by watching videos about Kulintang & Escrimadors (Martial Arts).

June 29, Friday

10:00-11:15 am     Kulintang Music Workshop
The goal of the workshop is to introduce and play the kulintang ensemble musical instruments from Southern Philippines.  Instructor:  Cristal Everette, Artistic Director of Kulintang Ensemble of Albuquerque (KEA).
11:15 am-12:30 pm LUNCH BOX 
12:30-1:45        Kulintang (Continued)         
2:00 - 4:15       Martial Arts (with Break) 
Instructor:  Gabbe Velasquez of the Fil-Am Silat & Kali Association of NM.
